For as long as I can remember, I’ve been happiest when I’m creating something with my hands. Before Golden Petal Company ever existed, my world was filled with herbs steeping on the counter, little jars of homemade elixirs, and evenings spent experimenting with new blends. Herbalism has always been a quiet love of mine — a way of slowing down, listening, and letting nature guide me.
Around that same time, I fell in love with cake decorating. There’s something incredibly soothing about piping buttercream into tiny petals, building flowers one swirl at a time. It’s meticulous and gentle, artistic and calming — and in its own way, it taught me how much joy there is in small details.
Those passions eventually braided themselves together.
The botanicals I once steeped for elixirs became the same botanicals I now infuse into oils. The patience I learned from piping roses onto cakes became the same patience I use when pouring soap, watching it transform from liquid to something solid, beautiful, and nourishing.
Golden Petal Company grew from all of these pieces — herbalism, artistry, self-care, and the simple desire to create something meaningful for others. When my husband jokingly nicknamed me “Marigold,” it stuck in the sweetest way, and somehow felt like the missing puzzle piece. It captured the warmth, the color, and the gentle energy I want every product to carry.
This blog will be a place where I share more of that journey — the ingredients I love, the processes I’m learning, and the quiet moments behind each bar of soap.
If you’re here at the very beginning, thank you for joining me. I’m excited to grow this little garden with you.
